Finally, we are starting our Interview Series and we are really happy to meet you with our friends from DHsign :)
DHsign is an Elite Envato Author and their main focus is in the Joomla Design and Development Industry. They are one of the leading Joomla Template Providers on Themeforest.net and they are quickly building a very nice portfolio.
Tell us a bit more about you, your workspace and DHsign as a whole.
We are a small team - actually a team of 2: me (Jordan) and my colleague/girlfriend/boss Hrissy :) We've started working together somewhere in 2006. At the beginning we worked mostly on print templates, such as flyers, posters, etc and finally started to build small corporate web sites based on Joomla for different companies here in Bulgaria.
We have now a small office in Sofia (Bulgaria's capital city). We are both involved in the process of creating the designs and features of our Joomla templates.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Well, it starts around 8:30 - 9:00am (we are not early birds at all) with coffee (and answering support questions). Around 11:30 we are already at the office and the work begins - answering support questions (again), checking ThemeForest and finally working on our templates. Most of the days we are leaving the office around midnight.
You are a Joomla designer and developer. When did you discover the beauty of Joomla and how did you start your business?
We have found Joomla somewhere in 2008 when the version was 1.5.X. We loved it at the moment we started working with it and ever since we are huge Joomla fans.
First we've started with small company sites and moved to more complex ones. We started on Envato websites with flyer templates, but after a year we released our first Joomla template.
What is your favourite part of being a part of the Envato Community?
The best part definitely is the freedom to create whatever you want, when you want and ultimately to get paid for it.
You became an Elite Author recently. How does it feel?
It's awesome! Mostly the great feeling it brings when you see the red badge next to your name or template. It's a great milestone which we have dreamed to achieve, just not that soon :)

When it comes to all of your Joomla Templates, which one are you most proud of?
To be honest - with all of them! But if we need to choose - definitely Yamato, our latest template. We put a lot of work and time building it. We love marketing and wanted to implement as many marketing tools as we can.
What advice would you give, as an Elite Author, to someone who is just entering the Envato community?
Work hard, follow your dreams and you can achieve everything that you want. Don't be afraid of rejections - they are just a step in the way to improve your skills and get to wherever you want to be.
What is the next big thing for DHsign?
Wow - the list is too big :P
First of all may be our next Joomla template ideas, we have quite a few. We probably need more people, but at this point we are working hard in order to compensate that we are just two.
Wordpress - yes, I can't tell that we haven't thought about it, but at this moment Joomla is our main field.
Personal life - we're thinking of getting our place and moving the office there. Hopefully it will be this year.
What do you think about the future of Joomla? How do you see the CMS in 5 years from now?
We think that Joomla will have great future, as so far. Yes, Wordpress is the most popular CMS and probably will stay this way for the future, but as Joomla fans, we must believe that our favorite platform is here to stay :)
Anything else you’d like to share?
First of all - big thanks to the JoomFX team and the opportunity to be interviewed for your blog. This is our first interview ever and we are proud that it's on your pages :)
As you are also an Elite author and a recognized Joomla developer we want to wish you success with all of your templates and future ideas!
Thank you very much Jordan (and Hrissy) for the kind words and for the time you spent on this interview! We wish you great success with all your projects in the future :)
